The Structure and the Essence of the Ethnic Identity

Abstract

The article deals with the interpretation of one of the initial concepts of ethno pedagogy: ethnic self-awareness (ethnic identity). Having reviewed different views of scientists on the essence of the concept of the ethnic self-awareness and its structure, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that the ethnic self-awareness has a great influence on the process of personality formation and should be formed through upbringing and education.
The components of the ethnic self-awareness are the most important intellectual values of people, which must be consolidated in everyday training of students, because they cement the ethnic community and determine its historical
uniqueness.
