Abstract

The article discusses domestic and foreign experience in using STEM technology in distance
learning. The key problems have been identified, concerning the importance of an interdisciplinary approach,
the competencies of teachers, the competencies of pupils and students. The benefits of using STEM education
include improving the English language skills of both subject teachers and students, gaining methodological
experience, using code switching and other integrated approaches. Among the possible solutions to the problems
of STEM education, there is noted the need to develop a unified standard for STEM education, as well as the
introduction of new STEM disciplines into curricula, support for subject teachers in their readiness for online
education and digital learning, the use of methods of active involvement of students in online STEM courses and
constant support for students’ motivation to learn.
