Implementation of the components of ecological culture and education in the process of forming «green» universities

Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of environmental education and environmental culture in the higher education system in Kazakhstan. Environmental education of young people is the prerogative of higher education. The study presents the theoretical foundations and methods of formation of ecological culture and
environmental education of students of higher educational institutions. According to the authors, environmental education, as part of general education, is a carrier of the basic values of culture and is inseparable in the formation of a well-rounded personality. In the course of the research, we used the method of analysis, synthesis, as well as research and pedagogical experience in accounting and practical implementation of the components of environmental culture and education in the context of an integrated approach, continuity and continuity of
educational programs. The content of the existing modules and university-wide courses is considered in order to establish the stability of the content, and to integrate the stability of the results of educational programs. A certain set of principles in their interaction provides a holistic description of the process of building a system of environmental and professional education, ensures the effectiveness of the formation of environmental culture of students of higher educational institutions. Within the framework of these tasks, the main aspects of the sustainable development of «green» universities in Kazakhstan have been developed to achieve a common goal in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
