The article shows the difficulties encountered in the application of problem-based learning in the practice of schools in Kazakhstan. The effectiveness of problem-based learning in the classroom is indicated. As one of the types of problem-based and project-based learning, case study is now widely used in educational
institutions. The article clearly describes the difficulties and advantages that arise when practicing and experimenting with the above method. As a result of the experiment, it turned out that with the help of a case study, it is possible to develop language and oratorical skills among students. It is also established that this technology contributes to the development of critical and creative thinking skills.
