Research activities starting from the «school wall» to promote the development of cognitive abilities and independence of students

Abstract

This article discusses the methodology that was introduced into school during the period of scientific pedagogical practice, as one of the types of cooperation between the school and the higher educational institution. The idea is substantiated  that through research work it is possible to form students’ natural-science thinking and increase cultural and spiritual values. In particular, the authors argue and disclose the process of implementing the methodology, conduct a complete analysis of the results and determine the development
trend of students.
The work was done at Kazakh National University. al-Farabi highly qualified specialists with extensive experience in both teaching and research activities. Under the guidance of mentors, students in grades 9-10 of the Prestige Schools in Almaty were able to carry out scientific and practical projects, as well as present them at conferences at both regional and international levels. The presented works by schoolchildren were protected at a high level, which indicates the effectiveness of the entire work process.
The authors conclude that research is one of the most effective ways of developing students’ natural science thinking and enhancing cultural and spiritual values.
The article has an interdisciplinary character, is useful to specialists of various faculties practicing in school educational institutions, as well as to teachers of secondary schools.
