The current models of migration: foreign and domestic experience

Abstract

The article gives an analysis of the reforms of migration policies of foreign countries in modern conditions, which is more focused on tightening the requirements for obtaining visas for migrants in developed countries. Nevertheless, in the ongoing reforms there are separate tools that can be adapted in Kazakhstan in order to increase the effectiveness of the implementation of migration policy. Thus, in the USA, Canada and New Zealand, a
score system has been introduced to assess potential immigrants, with which it is possible to determine the qualification level of potential applicants for obtaining work visas. This model allows attracting immigrants with demanded specialties and limiting the entry of low-skilled and low-income immigrants. In Sweden, with the aim of flexible integration of foreign citizens into culture and society, equal rights for immigrants are established law, and non-governmental organizations play an important role in their adaptation.
