The article is devoted to the development of professional skills of teachers in the conditions of updating the content of education. The problems of small schools are revealed. The methodological basis of the empirical research is the theory of A. Leontiev’s activity. On the personality of the teacher is an external influence
through the use of a number of main areas of psychological and pedagogical support: monitoring and analysis, counseling, training seminars and trainings, methodical landing, refresher courses, experiment, inter-course activities, exchange of experience. The paper presents the stages of implementation of the model, the structure of psychological and pedagogical support, the results are indicated. The article highlights the work of experimental sites within the framework of a research project, the basis of which is psychological and pedagogical support for the development of professional competence of a teacher in a small school in a continuing education system.
