This article presents the results of a sociological survey of Astana residents conducted in the first months of the spread of coronavirus in Kazakhstan. The telephone survey was conducted by the Public Opinion Research Institute in the first half of April 2020 during the quarantine period. Sample: 700 respondents, 18 years and older. Respondent selection method: quota. During the survey, respondents were asked about precautions, sources of information about the pandemic, etc. The majority of respondents expressed their concern about the spread of coronavirus in our country and worries that they themselves or their close relatives may get sick. The survey results are interesting because this project isamong the first sociological surveysconducted at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. The article also provides an overview of world research projects on the attitude of the population towardthe spread of the virus, vaccination, restrictions, etc.
