Abstract

This article is devoted to identifying ways to develop the “soft skills” of future primary
education teachers in the context of digital transformation of education. The article analyzes the research
of domestic and foreign scientists on the problem of the development of “soft skills” of future specialists.
The article proposed the classification of “Soft skills” skills as follows: communication skills, creativity,
analytical thinking, critical thinking, flexibility, reasoning and decision-making, self-control, planning,
research skills, skills to work in the information environment. In order to determine the ways of developing
the “soft skills” of future primary education teachers, a survey of undergraduates studying under the
educational program 7M01301-pedagogy and methodology of primary education was conducted. The
article presents the content of the survey and describes its results. According to the results of the survey, the
ways of developing the “soft skills” of future primary education teachers were given. Ways of development
of future primary scool teachers soft skills in the conditions of digital transformation of education: to introduce an elective course “Soft skills development Technology” into the master’s degree program, to
hold meetings with employers, to organize competitions at the university that develop the “soft skills” of
undergraduates, the use of innovative methods (trainings, mentoring, projects), web-basedresources.
