Methodology for identifying word formation skills in preschoolers with general speech underdevelopment

The article presents methods and their descriptions for the study of word-formation skills at children with general speech underdevelopment, which are the most common among other speech disorders of preschool children.
The most common type of speech defect in preschool children is general speech underdevelopment. «General speech underdevelopment» is a systemic speech disorder in which all its structural components (phonetic, phonemic and lexico-grammatical aspects) are violated with preserved hearing and intelligence [1]. With such kind of speech disorder children do not have speech skills like the ability to correctly use suffixes, conjunctions, make sentences and coherent speech, i.e. grammatical skills are poorly developed. And this in close future may
negatively affect the correct formation of the child’s writing skills, the child will experience difficulties in verbal communication with peers and adults, this interferes with his socialization and further education at school.
At the same time, the imperfection and underdevelopment of speech reduces the level of cognitive and emotional-volitional sphere and negatively affects the difficulties in mastering the school curriculum, especially writing and reading.
Therefore, paying special attention to the study of these skills in children with general speech underdevelopment, we have compiled and offer special techniques.
