Abstract

The article presents emotional intelligence in modern psychology and describes the directions of
its studyю. The directions of the study of the emotional intelligence of foreign and domestic authors are given. The authors viewed emotional intelligence as “the ability to control, distinguish between the emotions and the emotions of one and others, and use this information for thinking and acting”. In the structure of emotional intelligence, they are interrelated and have different qualities that do not depend on each other. One of the most interesting aspects of emotional intelligence is the study of the possibilities and prospects for the development of ontogenesis. The results obtained in such studies allow us to determine the nature of the concept of emotional intelligence. At the same time,
emotional intelligence refers to the ability to understand and control other people’s emotions.
