Abstract

The paper examines the issues of teaching the basics of information theory in secondary school. Currently, it is proved that some basic concepts of information theory are not fully disclosed for objective and subjective reasons. The structure and functions of the educational environment that ensure the systematic study by students of the basic concepts, laws of information theory and the practical application of this theory are considered. The most important element of the structure of the educational environment in the theory of information is the methodological system of teaching. The main part of the methodological system is theoretical and practical educational materials on information theory. These teaching materials are the main part of the educational content. The essence of the methodology of education, which is the main part of the methodological system, is revealed. The methods, forms, technologies and means of teaching that ensure the effective assimilation of the basics of information theory by students are studied.
