The article discusses the methodological foundations of teaching English to the 2nd grade students,
as well as the meaning and functions of dialogic English language teaching. The authors have been carried out
a comprehensive analysis of the significance and complexity of dialogic learning and analyzed how quickly
the student would be able to master the language. A dialogue is an exchange of opinions between two or more
people. The communication of the teacher and the student with each other and the exchange of opinions allow
the child to freely express his thoughts, quickly and systematically learn the language.
The article also proves that the function of understanding a language is important for learning it. One of the
most important goals is to increase the interest of children in classes through dialogic learning, the formation
of understanding skills, improving the quality of students’ knowledge and their interest in knowledge. For the
formation of understanding skills through dialogic learning, the teacher should conduct lessons in an interesting
way. To increase the interest of students in learning the language, it is necessary to use simple forms of teaching,
in particular, «question-answer» dialogues. Conducting classes through various games is effective. The article
describes types of games and subtleties of dialogic learning. When conducting classes in a playful way, the child
shows interest and easily remembers new words. The article presents short role-playing games.
