Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and motivation to achieve success in students. In the article, first of all, the concept of emotional intelligence was theoretically analyzed. Based on the researches in our country and abroad, the influence of emotional intelligence in human life, on human educational and professional activities and as a means of achieving success is described. In the article, the possibilities of achieving academic success in education based on emotional intelligence in the teaching technologies in the higher education system are considered. It is confirmed that emotional intelligence in students leads to their goal orientation, increased learning activity, higher academic performance, and increased motivation to achieve academic and professional success. Also, based on the analysis of the results of theoretical research, the author offers a model that shows "the connection of emotional intelligence with personal and professional achievements in human life." In a special experimental study, D.V. Lucin's "Emotional Intelligence" questionnaire and S.A. Pakulina's methodology "Students' motivation to achieve success in universities" was taken. A total of 130 students participated in the study. Through the results of the experiment, the relationship between the emotional intelligence of students and their motivation to achieve success, as well as the performance indicators of the lessons, is confirmed.
