Abstract
The socio-economic characteristics of a population describe the social and economic living conditions of people in a particular country, region, or community. These characteristics include indicators such as income, education, employment, access to medical services, housing, pension and social benefits, as well as other factors that affect the quality of life of the population. The purpose of this article is to study the relationship of certain indicators of the quality of life of the designated region. The method of data collection is an individual standardized survey using a programmed questionnaire in a special program, the survey covered 400 respondents living in cities and villages of the Western region of Kazakhstan. The sample represents the population in terms of the main socio-demographic characteristics (gender, age, level of education, nationality, marital status, employment). The study shows that certain indicators of quality of life indicate that there is no gap in some socio-economic characteristics between urban and rural settlements. The scientific significance of the work consists in expanding the understanding of the relationship between the socio-economic characteristics of a certain region in the context of the administrative classification of settlements – types of settlements of the Kazakh society, which provides the basis for the implementation of measures to improve the quality of life of the population, which is the practical significance of the work. It is of interest to comprehensively study and conduct different studies of life in villages and cities of Kazakhstan, respectively, objectively inform the population about the disadvantages and advantages of living in villages, as well as the opportunities provided by rural life.
