Use of problem learning technology «Write around» in practical classes with students

The article discusses one of the effective methods of problem learning, the «Write around»
technology, which was applied to work with archival documents in practical lessons in history, with 3rd-year students of «History-Religious Studies». The article describes the main stages and features of this technology.
The «Write around» technology is focused on the third level of cognitive activity in learning - this is creative search. At this level, students are offered cognitive tasks that require comprehension and comparison of various
points of view, provisions of several documents; identifying lines of comparison, studied phenomena, drawing up logical chains; the application of the theoretical provisions of the document for proof, the argumentation of their point of view, discussion of controversial problems; analysis and systematization of archival materials, formulation of generalized conclusions. The article presents the results of a pedagogical experiment in the experimental and control groups before and after the formative experiment. A comparative analysis of the two groups was carried out, and the level of students’ mastering of the skills of working with archival materials and
documents was revealed. Working with archival documents contributes to the formation and development of research skills in students, as well as an increase in cognitive interest in the subject.
