The article discusses the organization and content of didactic and educational games. It describes some of them used in-game training in general education and higher education. The authors propose a developed educational game «Electronic Formula», which is used to teach students the distribution of electrons in an atom by levels and sublevels of elements depicted using electronic formulas.
The articleanalyzesdifferent types of didactic and author’s educational games that develop students’ cognitive independence. The overwhelming majority of students have a positive attitude to the use of didactic and educational games in the classroom.
It is shown that schoolteachers most often use crosswords, quizzes, theatrical, intellectual games, but despite such a variety of games, there is a frequent lack of methodological manuals and educational games to support the curriculum.
