The article considers the problems of increasing the role of trade unions in the context of the “global crisis” of the labor movement, as well as the increasing individualization of the activities of employees selling their labor in the labor market. The contemporary problems of sociological studies of Russian trade unions within the framework of the sociology of the trade union movement are determined. In the article, the authors in historical retrospect briefly analyze the periods of development of the trade Union movement in Kazakhstan.
Based on the proclaimed tasks of modernization by trade unions of the country, especially FPRK, the researchers concluded that trade unions can be active players of civil society, as they have a long history and a wide social base in all social groups of the population.
