Abstract

Teaching content through the English language has rapidly increased in recent
decades, especially in tertiary levels. However, motivation of students plays an important role in the CLIL environment, that’s why we decided to test pre-service primary education teacher’s motivation in learning the English language by the CLIL approach after 8 weeks of CLIL teaching implemented this year as an experiment. The data is collected by the motivation survey. Results revealed that almost all students like and enjoy learning content in English and they have the
highest motivation in learning university disciplines in English language by CLIL approach next year, too. In conclusion, implementing trilingual education in the programme of preparing future primary education teachers is recommended in order to be ready for trilingual teaching.
