Abstract

The article discusses effective methods of using modern technologies of active and interactive learning for mastering basic concepts, increasing the cognitive activity of students when teaching the elective course «Geography of Culture», which takes a special place in the preservation and rational use of cultural heritage sites of the country and in the moral education of young people.
In an era of rapid development of science and technology, an increase in the flow of information, the main task of educational institutions is to develop the intellectual abilities and talents of students. Important changes in the modern educational space are inextricably linked with the relentless search and creativity of the teacher.
Therefore, it is necessary to make a huge breakthrough in the development of the latest pedagogical technologies that contribute to learning, taking into account the individual abilities of each student and the development of independence, curiosity, and creativity in him.
The article proposes effective methods of teaching the elective course «Geography of Culture» for the 10th grade in the natural and mathematical direction using innovative technologies. There is also a lesson plan on the topic: «The centers of civilization and their location».
