This article presents the methodology and analysis of an experiment aimed at the development
of humanitarian giftedness of senior schoolchildren. The authors propose a new approach to working with students of humanities schools, which allows using the means of cinematography to improve their social orientation. The core of the developed methodology is a system of educational situations transferred to the plot role space, as well as film therapy.
The basic educational institution for conducting a psychological experiment, which will be discussed in this article, was the gymnasium «Lika» – a non-governmental educational institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a social and humanitarian direction for students of grades 5-11, conducting educational activities in accordance with state license No. 0001666 dated July 21, 1999. The content of the educational process in this gymnasium is based on the state educational standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2019, students of the 8th grade of the above-mentioned gymnasium took part in the filming of an author’s art educational film called «Little Big Story». In the course of our research, the picture was presented to the students of the gymnasium «Lika». After the screenings, a survey was conducted to identify the psychological impact of cinema on the process of social development. The results of the study made it possible to draw important conclusions for science.
