Studying the readiness of doctoral students to improve the efficiency and quality of research in education

Abstract

Together with the Higher School of Economics (Russia), Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan) carried out a research project on the topic: «Selection and evaluation of educational innovations and conducting a pedagogical experiment» on cross-country studies of the problem of the
effectiveness and quality of scientific research in the field of education. The relevance of the study is determined by the study of the readiness of doctoral students to develop and implement the design of a doctoral study, as
well as the development of tools for identifying the effectiveness of selection, searching for innovative projects in education and pedagogical experiments. As a result of a sociological survey, we revealed an understanding
by doctoral students and scientific consultants of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abay KazNPU of the problem of increasing the efficiency and quality of doctoral research based on understanding the methods of
selection and evaluation of innovations in education, based on studying the database of educational innovations in Kazakhstan as a sub-stage of the international Innovation Competition in education (KIvO). In order for
doctoral students and scientific consultants to apply the identified methods in their doctoral studies, we conducted a refresher course on the topic: “Research on the effectiveness of modern educational technologies”. And after the intervention, we studied the readiness of doctoral students to develop and implement the design of pedagogical research.
