About the quality of textbooks: problems and ways to solve them

Abstract

The article considers the problem of the quality of textbooks, shows the role of textbooks in achieving the quality of education. The authors consider the existing problems in the field of improving the quality of domestic textbooks.
The ways of solving the problem are given, with the help of which it is possible to improve textbooks and other resources for both teaching and learning in the light of the growing volume of knowledge and types of research. Among them are: to provide criteria for teachers when choosing high-quality textbooks for their students; to conduct courses for textbook authors and developers of educational materials; to provide criteria for experts to include textbooks in the “Recommended List”; provide practical suggestions for the design of
textbooks to maximize the chances of effective teaching and learning when using them.

of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic «Scientific and methodological foundations for the development and implementation of a system of criteria for testing educational literature».
