Abstract

Virtual reality technologies are actively developing and are being introduced in various spheres of human life. The article discusses issues of the use of virtual reality in education. The author examines research on this topic and studies the practical experience of foreign countries in the implementation of virtual reality. In other words, the article has reviewed studies that experimented usefulness of virtual reality for learning foreign languages, increasing students’ attention and interest for learning, helpfulness for the visualization of materials,
and distance learning.In addition, there were analyzedstart-ups in application VR technologies for educational purpose. The article discussed platforms and engines that are mostly used in developing VR, such as Unity, CryEngine, Amazon Sumerian, React 360, and Simmetri. In other words, themethodology of the articlerelied ona literature review in this area. As a result, outlined recommendations for the application of this technology in secondary education of Kazakhstan. Moreover, delineated inferences on efficacy and hurdles introducing of this innovative technology in education. In addition, virtual reality is not fully integrated into the education system yet, it is used experimentally in some educational institutions in foreign countries.
