Abstract

The article discusses the main directions of the implementation of the applied and practical orientation of teaching mathematics. The growing need for mathematical knowledge in various spheres of human life is a requirement today. Today, scientists, senior and middle technical engineers, as well as qualified
specialists in various sectors of the economy must be able to skillfully use the mathematical apparatus in their work. The article determines the main goals and objectives of teaching applied mathematics by practice. The range of applications of mathematics as science is endless today: in science, technology, industry, education, and much more. Since mathematics is widely used in various spheres of human life, it is important to teach the applied aspects of this science in higher education. Consequently, there is a need for the formation of mathematical literacy, as the importance of teaching and learning based on the ability to use mathematical apparatus in practice increases. Future teachers should receive the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in the applied and practical direction of teaching mathematics at the university. Knowledge of applied and practical mathematics will be useful in the future work of students and in their profession.
