Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the concept of «elderly people», the experience of organizing social protection, social support for older people in the Republic of Kazakhstan in modern conditions. The authors consider the social problems of elderly people, the role of a social worker in working with this category of
the population, including in the context of social education of the elderly. On the basis of the research conducted in the field of studying the essence of the problems of modern elderly people the current content of social work with the elderly is given.
