Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the situation in the country has undergone many changes. In the course of protection from a dangerous disease, students and teachers all around the world kept their distance from each other and switched to distance learning. The article discusses advantages and disadvantages of distance learning, which occur in the process of training a competitive specialist. There was compiled a survey to study the opinion of distance learners. The objects of the study were schoolchildren, college and
university students who were involved in distance education. The purpose of this experiment was to identify the opinions of students in distance learning, the attitude of college and university students to their knowledge in distance learning. During the survey, schoolchildren and students were asked such questions as «Do you accept necessary knowledge at the proper level?», «Is distance education effective or ineffective?», «Does distance education create any uncertain problems?». The survey was attended by schoolchildren, students of colleges and universities of the Zhambyl region, Shymkent city. The article highlights disadvantages and advantages of distance learning during the training of a competitive specialist. The article considers a concept of a competitive environment which is necessary for the formation of a competitive specialist.
