Psychological features of the coach’s personality

Abstract
The article clarifies the issues of studying the psychological aspects of the interrelated actions of a
coach and an athlete, i.e. personal characteristics, behavior, and pedagogical activity of the coach, the influence
of the athlete’s condition on the result of the sport, the psychological readiness of the athlete depending on
the course of mental processes, the state of his personality, specific competition in the field of sports activity
in general, guided by the principles of systematization, is methodologically justified during a comprehensive
theoretical review of the works of foreign and domestic scientists in the field of social psychology.
At the same time, the influence of the psychological characteristics of the coach’s personality, the correctly
chosen style of interpersonal communication and interaction in the «coach–athlete» system, the abilities and
professional competencies of the coach influencing the disclosure of interest, attention, diligence, motivation,
creativity, and maximum potential of students in everyday sports are considered.
However, the answers to the questions about how to form a positive personal attitude in the team during
sports training, how to get out of a conflict situation, and how to achieve a socio-psychological positive climate
conducive to achieving high results that affect the successful formation of motivation of athletes, are determined
on the basis of quantitative and qualitative analysis of data obtained during the organization of empirical
research and are aimed at achieving success in the field of sports activities, specific practical recommendations
are given aimed at achieving.
