Today, the issues of psychological well-being of young women, quality, and life satisfaction
are becoming increasingly relevant in economics, political science, healthcare, the social sphere, and
psychology. The changing political situation all over the world, the dynamics of society development
and competitive conditions encourage a person to have a comfortable, harmonious life and maintain a
positive and productive level of mental mood. All this contributes to meeting the basic and material needs
of young women, maintaining a balance of positive and negative emotions, comprehensive realization of
the abilities to self-knowledge and self-assessment, overcoming stress, searching for their own values, and
personal professional creative activity. The lack of psychological well-being and the necessary quality of
life lead young women to discomfort, feeling unhappy, helpless, lonely, domestic violence, to becoming
victims of difficult life situations. The works of domestic and foreign scientists, as well as the results
of our research, have established that psychological well-being is closely related to the quality of life, a
sense of satisfaction, and happiness. They argue for the relationship between the feeling of happiness and
satisfaction as an indicator of the psychological well-being of young women. 60 young girls and women
aged 18 to 38 from Astana took part in our study. The average age of respondents is 25 years. In order to
determine the indicators of psychological well-being of young women, we selected the following methods:
“Psychological Well-Being” Questionnaire “Scale of Psychological Well-Being” by Carol Riff (adaptation
by T.D. Shevelenkova, P.P.Fesenko); updated Oxford questionnaire of happiness compiled by colleagues
of M. Argyle, the scale of life satisfaction by E.Diener. These methods revealed indicators of psychological
well-being.
