The article discusses the question of the methodology for organizing group work to improve the quality of teaching mathematics for younger students. The article discusses the role of group work in improving the quality of students’ knowledge. Through group work, there can be determined the ability of each student to self-knowledge. The article describes the results of increased motivation for learning in practice. The article considers the advantages of the organization of group work in teaching mathematics in primary school. The article presents principles of effective organization of group work. The article provides information on the benefits of group work for elementary school students and changes that can be observed in withdrawn and low-performing students through group work among students, positive effects of group work. The article explores the possibility of improving the quality of education through the organization of group work. There are provided excerpts from the study.
