Abstract

The article examines in detail the possibilities of forming national values of adolescents through extracurricular activities. The article was based on approved state regulatory documents aimed at the formation of national values among schoolchildren. The work of domestic and foreign scientists who studied such key concepts as "national values" and "extracurricular activities" in the framework of social sciences such as pedagogy, psychology, sociology, etc. is also analyzed. The directions and forms of extracurricular activities are considered. According to the age periodization of D. B. Elkonin, a characteristic of adolescence has been developed. In the practical part of the scientific article, the issues of determining the initial level of national values of adolescents (students of grades 7-11) and their effective formation were analyzed. The practical work included the stages of identification, formation, and control. At the stage of identification by means of diagnostic techniques "Unfinished sentence", "Picture stories", the initial level of national values of students was determined. At the formative stage, a short- term project was created and tested, organized with the aim of forming national values of adolescents through extracurricular activities. In order to determine the effectiveness of the project at the control stage of practice, the methods of diagnosis and analysis of situational issues by M. Rokich "Definition of value orientation" were used. In accordance with the results of the methods, the effectiveness of the short-term project was evaluated at the control stage and conclusions were drawn on the research work.
