The article describes the ways of applying the method of analogy – one of the methods of scientific knowledge in the study of physics in high school. The characteristic of two types of the method of analogies used in the process of studying physics is given. These are static and dynamic analogies. Among the listed methods of analogy, the dynamic analogy is comprehensively considered. The heuristic function of the dynamic analogy method in solving problems on mechanical and electrical oscillations is revealed. The considered problems belong to the type of Olympiad problems.
