Didactic training of teachers

Abstract

Renewal of education puts forward fundamentally new requirements for the quality of training of specialists. The training of future educators who will educate and nurture a younger generation capable of implementing socio-economic, political, and cultural change in the country is relevant. The country’s developed and adopted Sectoral Qualifications Framework for Education and the Professional Standard for Teachers, which are aligned with the Dublin Descriptors and the European Qualifications Framework, demonstrate the need for radical renewal of teacher education content, organizational forms, strategies, techniques and learning tools.
All these measures should ensure a significant improvement in the training of teachers. But experience and observations show that fundamental changes have not yet taken place and, in our view, the reform of technical and vocational, post-secondary, higher and postgraduate teacher education, as well as supplementary education, could take years.
In this regard, the article discusses the issues of updating the didactic training of students at pedagogical colleges and universities. The novelty is that it offers a course on didactics as an independent discipline (not in the context of pedagogy), as well as updated content in accordance with the natural science approach.
