Abstract

The article presents an overview of the half-century history of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. It demonstrates the background of the department from the pedagogical institute, as well as its contribution to current university.

The article reflects the trends in the development of the department as one of the components of the university, its contribution to the development of training of specialists for the university and society as a whole.

The author highlights valuable teaching experience of the founders of the department, and the contribution of the leading teaching professors to the development of the department.The article is devoted for the 25th anniversary of the University.
