Psychological study of students’ ecological consciousness

Abstract

The article was written within the framework of the implementation of the scientific
project of grant funding for 2022-2024 of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan AP14869631 “Green School - Green College - Green University”
as a system of development of environmental education. The analysis of the scientific literature showed
the environmental problems actively breaking into the lives of millions of people around the world, the
Republic of Kazakhstan is no exception to this list. And new opportunities in the production sphere,
digital technologies, development and popularization of health saving way of life from year to year, slowly
but surely increase the chances of favorable resolution of these problems. The purpose of our article is
to analyze the peculiarities of environmental consciousness of university students. The authors of the
article conducted a study using the developed questionnaire called: “Ecological Consciousness”. The
questionnaire consists of 2 blocks: I block- general enlightenment, II block-private enlightenment and includes 12 questions. The research involved 136 students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Respondents filled out an online questionnaire. The survey was completely anonymous. Regardless of age
and ethnicity, the Kazakhstani students were found to have high indices - 76.6% on the I block of general
enlightenment. Also, high indicators-91.4% were revealed for the II block of private enlightenment.
